THE OREGANO TRAIL
Go west. Try not to die.
A loving throwback to the computer-lab classics of the early 1980s.
Six colors. Square-wave beeps. Dysentery.
for iPhone & iPad
- Lead five hopeful souls 2,040 miles from Independence to the Willamette Valley
- Outfit your wagon: oxen, food, clothing, ammunition, spare parts — skimp and you'll feel it
- Ford the river, caulk and float, or pay the ferryman. Choose wrong and pay dearly
- Hunt bison, deer, and rabbits in the sparse pixel woods — shoot straight or starve
- Survive blizzards, snakebites, thieves, broken axles, and your own optimism
- Die historically, share your gravestone, and chase the Oregano Top Ten
- Authentic 1980s look: six-color pixel art, terminal font, gentle scanlines, synthesized beeps
- 100% offline. No ads. No accounts. No tracking. Nothing to buy.
Wagon trouble? Questions, bug reports, and tales from the trail:
Include your device model and iOS version — it helps the repair go faster than an axle swap.
- No sound? Check the silent switch on the side of your iPhone — the square waves respect it.
- Lost progress? The game auto-saves your journey on-device. Deleting the app deletes the save — the trail keeps what it takes.
- Game too hard? That's the 1848 experience. Buy more clothing and spare parts than you think you need.

The short version: we collect nothing. It's 1848 out here — there is no telegraph.
The Oregano Trail ("the app") is a fully offline game:
- No data collection. The app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information — no names, emails, locations, identifiers, or usage analytics.
- No network use. The app makes no network requests. Everything runs on your device.
- Local saves only. Game progress, settings, and high scores are stored only on your device and are removed if you delete the app.
- No ads, no third-party SDKs. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking libraries.
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log into.
- Sharing is yours. If you choose to share a result card, the app hands the image to the standard iOS share sheet — nothing is sent anywhere unless you send it.
- App Store reviews. The app may occasionally ask if you'd like to rate it, using Apple's built-in review prompt. Apple handles that interaction under its own privacy policy.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and, collecting nothing, collects nothing from them either.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date.
